Turkey and Nigeria signed three memorandums of understanding (MoU) in the fields of energy, hydrocarbons and mining on Wednesday, according to Turkey's Energy Ministry.
Energy and Natural Resources Minister Fatih Donmez and Nigerian Foreign Minister Geoffery Onyeama signed the MoUs in Nigeria during Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's official visit.
'We signed cooperation agreements in energy, mining and hydrocarbon fields in Nigeria, our last stop in West Africa,' said Donmez via Twitter.
'We will carry our energy cooperation to a higher level with new investment and commercial activities, as well as sharing knowledge and experience between Turkey and Nigeria,' he added on Twitter.
A total of seven memorandums were signed between the two countries, three of which are in the energy sector, with one involving cooperation on renewable energy sources, energy efficiency, electricity distribution and transmission.
