Historic Record in Oil and Natural Gas Production
Türkiye's oil and natural gas production reached record levels in August. Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar stated that total crude oil production in Türkiye reached 107 thousand 621 barrels on August 17 and said, “We also broke a production record in natural gas this month. On August 15, we broke a production record with 7 million 609 thousand 427 cubic meters.”
Daily Production Record.
The Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources continues its efforts to increase production in oil and natural gas. In this context, daily production records were broken in both oil and natural gas in August 2024.
Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Bayraktar made the following assessment:
47 THOUSAND BARRELS EXCEEDED IN GABAR: We had declared 2024 as the year of increasing production in oil and natural gas. Fortunately, we are taking firm steps towards this goal. In August, our oil and natural gas production reached the highest levels in history. On August 17, our crude oil production was 107 thousand 621 barrels. TPAO realized 95,656 barrels of this production. On the same day, we reached a production figure of 47,58 barrels from the wells in Gabar Mountain.
OVER 6 MILLION CUBIC METERS IN THE BLACK SEA: We also broke a production record in natural gas this month. On August 15, we broke a production record with 7 million 609 thousand 427 cubic meters. TPAO again had the biggest share in this production. TPAO produced 7 million 335 thousand 47 cubic meters of natural gas on August 15. On August 15, only the production from Sakarya Gas Field in the Black Sea was 6 million 146 thousand 886 cubic meters.
FULL ENERGY INDEPENDENCE: Within the framework of our National Energy and Mining Policy, with our own ships, our own engineers, our own capabilities and capabilities, we are moving forward with great determination to end foreign dependence in energy. In line with the vision of the Turkish Century put forward by our President, we will further increase our production with new drilling and, hopefully, new discoveries, both on land and in the seas, in Türkiye and abroad.
