A First After 27 Years

Bayraktar stated that they have been working on Turkmen gas for natural gas for a long time and said, "Türkiye will have supplied gas from a country without borders with pipe gas for the first time in more than 20 years. This is a first for us," he said.

It Starts On March 1

Stating that the history of this issue goes back to 1998, Bayraktar said, "But for almost 30 years, unfortunately, not even a single cubic meter of gas has reached Türkiye from Turkmenistan. Hopefully, this will be overcome as of March 1," he said.

Turkmenistan-Iran-Türkiye Route

Bayraktar explained that they will receive the gas that Turkmenistan will deliver to Iran from the Iran-Türkiye natural gas connection point from Gürbulak through Swap and said, "It is a very important agreement for us in terms of diversification, reducing the cost, and having a competitive gas supply. It is also important that those resources can go to Türkiye and Europe, especially through Türkiye, which needs it. In this sense, our infrastructure is ready for this," he said.

Until The End Of The Year

Underlining that the status of the Caspian is a fundamental restriction, Bayraktar said, "When we have a pipeline crossing the Caspian, we will have the chance to supply significant amounts of gas for both Türkiye and Europe. The ultimate goal here is basically the point we want to reach. In this supply process, which will continue until the end of the year, we will offer 1.3 billion cubic meters of natural gas to users in our country," he said.

Natural Gas to Slovakia

Bayraktar emphasized that European countries especially have expectations regarding natural gas, "Slovakian Prime Minister Mr. Fico visited our President. They had processes, especially with the interruption of the Ukrainian transit. We helped them in this regard and as of February 1, we ensured that gas reached through Türkiye," he said.

Win-Win Principle

"If a project creates value for Türkiye and for the relevant country or countries, if it creates a win-win, Türkiye will definitely support that project." Bayraktar said, "Türkiye will definitely support every project that will contribute to regional peace and prosperity. We will continue to be in projects that will contribute to the supply security of the region from now on," he said.
