New Era in Oil Exploration in Türkiye
An important agreement was signed in CERAWeek 2025, which beats the heart of the global energy sector. With the agreement signed by the national oil company TPAO with TransAtlantic Petroleum and Continental Resources, unconventional oil and gas resources in the Diyarbakır Basin will be developed.

Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar, who participated in the CERAWeek 2025 held in Houston, USA, said, "I hope that this agreement, which opens a new era in oil exploration in Türkiye, will be beneficial for all parties."
He Explained His Energy Vision
Minister Bayraktar talked about Türkiye’s energy vision at CERAWeek 2025, where leading names in the field of energy met. Minister Bayraktar, who held separate meetings with Mexican Energy Minister Luz Elena Gonzalez, Libyan Minister of Oil and Gas Khalifa Abdulsadek and Egyptian Minister of Oil and Mineral Resources Karim Badawi, also met with high-level representatives of global companies.
Joint Venture Agreement
Within the scope of the event, a Joint Venture Agreement was signed between TPAO and TransAtlantic Petroleum and Continental Resources. Minister Bayraktar accompanied the signing ceremony. After the signatures, Minister Bayraktar shared the following on his social media account:
EDUCATION AND INFORMATION TRANSFER: Today, our national company TPAO has signed a Joint Venture Agreement with Continental Resources, one of the largest oil producers in the USA, and TransAtlantic Petroleum, which has been operating in our country for 17 years, for the development of our unconventional oil and gas resources in the Diyarbakır Basin. In the project, which will be carried out with the most up-to-date environmental and technological applications, training and technical knowledge transfer of the domestic labor force will also be provided. This cooperation will greatly contribute to our goal of bringing Türkiye's oil and gas resources to our economy. I hope that this agreement, which opens a new era in oil exploration in Türkiye, will be beneficial for all parties.
