A New Window in Energy with Kuwait
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's Gulf tour is also opening doors to new partnerships in the energy sector. A framework agreement in the field of energy was signed with Kuwait, during the first stop of the program.

Accompanied by Kuwaiti Emir Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan signed a “Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in the Field of Energy between the Government of the Republic of Türkiye and the Government of the State of Kuwait.”

Energy and Natural Resources Minister Alparslan Bayraktar, who accompanied President Erdoğan on the tour covering Kuwait, Qatar, and Oman, signed the agreement together with Kuwaiti Minister of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy Subaih Abdulaziz Al Mukhaizeem.
Minister Bayraktar made a statement on social media regarding the agreement reached, saying, "We are accompanying our President, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, on his three-day visit to Kuwait, Qatar, and Oman. In Kuwait, the first stop of the visit, we participated in the delegation-level talks held between our President and the Emir of Kuwait, Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah. Following the meeting, in the presence of the leaders, we signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in the Field of Energy between Turkey and Kuwait with Kuwaiti Minister of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy Mr. Subaih Abdulaziz Al-Mukhaizeem. With this agreement, we aim to develop joint projects in the electricity, energy efficiency, and renewable energy sectors and to share experiences with each other. I hope this step, which will further advance our relations in the field of energy, will be beneficial."
Creating a Framework
The agreement, which will create a framework for energy cooperation between the two countries, will explore opportunities for collaboration in the fields of education, consulting, and engineering services.
Cooperation to Be Conducted
Development work will be carried out in the fields of electricity, energy efficiency, and renewable energy, including joint projects. Cooperation will be established in projects in these areas, and information and experience will be exchanged.
