We Will Achieve the Century of Mining in Türkiye in the Turkish Century

Minister Bayraktar, Participated in the 90. Anniversary Program of State Owned ETİ MADEN.

Pioneers in Their Fields

Reminding that MTA and ETİ Maden were established with the laws passed on June 14, 1935, Minister Bayraktar stated that both organizations have taken on leading roles in their fields in the intervening 90 years.

Many Principles Signed

Pointing out that the two sister organizations established on the same day broke many firsts, Bayraktar said, "MTA has produced geology maps that form the basis of mineral exploration studies. They prepared a living fault map that forms the basis of earthquake research studies. MTA worked in earth sciences and mineral exploration both on land and at sea. MTA found the first oil in our country. They started the works on the establishment of Turkish Petroleum with the first refinery." He stated that ETİ MADEN first operated all of Türkiye's mines, especially coal and iron-steel.

MTA, Exploration Power of Mining

Minister Bayraktar said, "MTA; While in the past, it was an institution that took the x-rays of Anatolia, not to say mountains or stones, and offered the hidden treasures under the ground to the service of our nation, today, the scientific compass of our mining continues to be the power of discovery in the field."

ETİ MADEN, Our Flag Carrier

Stating that ETİ MADEN is Türkiye's flag carrier in the world mining league, Bayraktar said, "Today, as Türkiye's National Mining Organization, it has become a global company that is accepted not only in Türkiye, but also in its region and in the world. It brings foreign currency to our country every year with its export activities to more than 100 countries and the logistics operations it carries out at many points in the world."

Bayraktar also emphasized that ETİ MADEN strengthens Türkiye's leading position with a market share of 61 percent in the world boron market in 2024. He stated that ETI MADEN has evolved into a global mining company by intensifying its activities not only in the burde, but also in strategic raw materials such as rare earth elements and lithium.

Century of Mining

Minister Bayraktar said, "We will achieve the century of mining in Türkiye together in the Turkish Century." Bayraktar also celebrated the 90th anniversary of ETİ MADEN and MTA.
