Minister Bayraktar is in Uzbekistan
Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar was received by President Şevket Mirziyoyev in Uzbekistan, where he went for the "Sustainable Energy Program for New Uzbekistan". Stating that the issue of mines was also on the agenda in the meeting, Minister Bayraktar said that they aim to progress in the field of mining by working together with Uzbek companies. Bayraktar pointed out that the trade volume between the two countries is 2 and a half billion dollars and said, "With these studies, we will go far beyond this. We will go together as a very important partner in the development adventure of Uzbekistan." said.

Minister Bayraktar attended the opening and construction launch ceremony of the large projects implemented by Uzbekistan in the field of energy in the capital Tashkent. Minister Bayraktar, who made a speech at the Sustainable Energy Program for New Uzbekistan, started his speech with an Uzbek greeting.
Reforms and Practices
Speaking at the meeting attended by Uzbekistan President Mirziyoyev, Bayraktar said that Uzbekistan's new energy projects will make significant contributions to the country's economy. Bayraktar emphasized that Uzbekistan has become a center of attraction for foreign investors with market reforms and successful practices and noted that the potential in the field of energy and mining will grow the country.
Türkiye’s Perspective
Expressing that Türkiye’s energy demand is constantly increasing and that they are trying to reduce the dependence on imports while meeting this, Bayraktar said that President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has also developed strategies to achieve the 2053 Net Zero Emission target. Bayraktar shared Türkiye’s perspective on some topics from renewable energy to nuclear, from energy infrastructure to oil and natural gas production.
We Support Investments
Talking about the strategic partnership between Türkiye and Uzbekistan, Bayraktar said, "With joint projects, we not only strengthen economic ties, but also increase regional energy security. As Türkiye, we support our private sector investments in Uzbekistan. We actively exchange information with our Uzbek colleagues, especially in the fields of energy efficiency, grid infrastructure, market liberalization and mining. We are also pleased with the progress here, as mining is critical to the energy transition.” said.
Minister Bayraktar was also accepted by Uzbekistan President Mirziyoyev in the Tashkent program.

Minister Bayraktar, who made statements to journalists about his visit, stated that he witnessed the reforms and investments made with the political will of the President of Uzbekistan Mirziyoyev and said, "We, under the leadership of our President, implemented very important reforms in the energy sector 23 years ago, and in this way, we managed to attract an investment of approximately 100 billion dollars in the electricity sector. We see that similar processes are in Uzbekistan.” said.

Explaining that Uzbekistan has made significant contributions to the energy sector with the capabilities and experience of Turkish companies, Bayraktar said, "Seeing the projects they carry out is a very important source of pride for us. Turkish companies are doing very important works here in natural gas projects in many fields from electricity production to distribution, especially in the field of renewable energy." he said.

Bayraktar stated that they conveyed the greetings of both Türkiye and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan at the reception of President Mirziyoyev and said, "Our relations with Uzbekistan are at a very high level. Noting that mining was also on the agenda in the meeting with President Mirziyoyev, Bayraktar said, "We will extend the trade volume of 2.5 billion dollars between the two countries far beyond this with these studies.
