Installed Power in Renewable Energy Exceeded 75 Thousand Megawatts

Türkiye's electricity installed power increased to 121 thousand 782 megawatts as of the end of November. Evaluating the electricity data of November, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar pointed out that the installed capacity of renewable energy exceeded 75 thousand megawatts and left an important stage behind. Minister Bayraktar said, "1/3 of our established power consisted only of wind and sun."

Türkiye's electricity installed power increased to 121 thousand 782 megawatts in November. The share of renewable energy in installed power continued to rise in November. Renewable energy accounted for 75 thousand 615 megawatts, which corresponds to 62 percent of the total electricity installed power.

Solar and Wind

Pointing out that the installed power of renewable energy exceeded 75 thousand megawatts, leaving an important stage behind, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar stated that the total wind and solar installed power reached 39 thousand 215 megawatts. Minister Bayraktar said, "Only the share of the sun in our electricity installed power exceeded the 20 percent band and reached 20.3 percent. The share of the wind also increased to 11.9 percent. Thus, 1/3 of our installed power consists of only wind and sun," he said.

71.5 Percent Local

Stating that the share of domestic resources in the total installed power is 71.5 percent as of the end of November, Minister Bayraktar emphasized that 87 thousand 90 megawatts of the installed power consists of domestic sources.

We Will Continue To Add To Our Capabilities

Reminding that they successfully completed the Renewable Energy Resource Area (YEKA) competitions with a total installed capacity of 3 thousand 800 megawatts with an investment amount of 4 billion dollars in 2025, Minister Bayraktar said, "We have a significant potential especially in solar and wind energy. We will continue to hold a YEKA competition of at least 2 thousand megawatts in this field every year. We will continue to add strength to our strength in renewable energy," he said.

A Türkiye Fully Independent in Energy

Minister Bayraktar said, "Each megawatt investment we implement by taking our renewable resources as the center and increasing our localization moves brings us one step closer to our goal of 'Fully Independent Türkiye in Energy'."
