Çağrı Bey will go to Somalia in February

Minister Bayraktar made statements at the Yavuz Drilling Ship in Filyos Port and made evaluations regarding the natural gas and oil exploration activities to be carried out in 2026.

Domestic Gas for 8 Million Households in 2026

Stating that they have completed the first phase of natural gas production in the Black Sea this year, Bayraktar noted that they have started to produce approximately 10 million cubic meters of gas per day, so that the natural gas needs of 4 million houses are met with domestic gas. Stating that Osman Gazi Floating Production Platform will double the production in the Black Sea as of the third quarter of 2026, Bayraktar stated that the natural gas needs of 8 million households will be met with this production.

Osman Gazi's Twin Will Come

Bayraktar said, "In 2028, another twin of Osman Gazi will come, his capacity is a little bigger. With it, we will have completed the first three phases in Sakarya Gas Field as of 2028 and we will meet the natural gas needs of 17 million households with our own gas." he said.

7 Thousand 500 People Will Work

Pointing out that more than 5 thousand people are currently working in the production of domestic gas in the Black Sea, Bayraktar said that this number will reach the highest level in March and reach 7 thousand 500.

First Deep Sea Drilling Abroad

Minister Bayraktar, who also gave information about Türkiye's new drilling ships Yıldırım and Çağrı Bey, stated that the new ships are currently in Taşucu Port and said, "In a few months, Yıldırım will come to the Black Sea. Çağrı Bey, will also go to Somalia in February and we will have carried out our first deep sea exploration drilling abroad there."

New Era in Oil and Gas Exploration

Minister Bayraktar said, "2026 will be a year in which we will open a new era in oil and natural gas exploration. With the work we have done, we will have shared the new good news with our nation," he said.

6 New Exploration Drilling in the Black Sea

Minister Bayraktar shared the information, "In addition to our production in the Black Sea Sakarya Gas Field, we will drill 6 new exploration purposes; both in the Western Black Sea, the Central Black Sea and the Eastern Black Sea."

Answering the questions of the members of the press, Bayraktar said about the 'drone' attacks in the Black Sea, "Our teams are doing the necessary work. We have been working on the security of critical energy infrastructures for a long time. We are also trying to take extra measures regarding these," he said.
