33 Billion Cubic Meters Agreement

Bayraktar announced that a new natural gas supply agreement with Azerbaijan with a total of 33 billion cubic meters was made. Bayraktar said, "Two days ago, we made a new agreement with 33 billion cubic meters regarding natural gas in Azerbaijan. An agreement with a total of 33 billion cubic meters for 15 years with 2.25 billion cubic meters every year from the Absheron Field in Azerbaijan." said.

It Will Come With The Pipeline As Of 2029

Pointing out that the procurement will start in 2029, Bayraktar said, "The signatures will end very soon, we concluded the final negotiations on Friday. There will be an annual production of 2.25 billion cubic meters in the Absheron Field and we will take it for 15 years, until the 2040s. Again, we found an affordable gas and started to buy it to our country for a long time. This gas will come from the pipeline. It will come from Azerbaijan, from the Caspian Sea," he said.

Developments in Venezuela

Evaluating the impact of the events in Venezuela on the energy markets, Bayraktar said, "Our expectations are that they will not have much negative effect on the world oil markets at the moment. When we look at the amount of production, it has a production level of less than 1 percent of the world's production.” said. He also stated that Venezuela is the country with the largest oil reserves in the world and has the potential to produce 5 percent of the world's daily oil needs.

Bigger Discoveries

Minister Bayraktar said, "2026 will be a year where we will go to greater discoveries. We have plans for it," he said. Explaining that they will do 6 new drillings in the Black Sea, Bayraktar said, "We have wells that we plan to dig in the Central Black Sea, in the Eastern Black Sea, and whose locations have been determined."

Potential Beyond Gabar in Diyarbakır

Giving information about the rock oil exploration in Diyarbakır, Bayraktar pointed out that they will do the first horizontal drilling this year and said, "We have a three-year planning. We aim to do this in a total of 24 wells. If we succeed, Diyarbakır has a great potential in this sense. It has the potential to take us beyond Gabar," he said. Bayraktar stated that they will try this method for shale gas in Thrace as well.

7 Kilometers of Drilling in Somalia

Speaking about the drilling operation that Çağrı Bey Drilling Ship will carry out in Somalia, Bayraktar said, "We are hopeful from the field in Somalia. Approximately water depth is 3.5 kilometers. So, you need 3.5 kilometers to go down to the seabed. After landing on the seabed, there is another depth of 3.5 kilometers. We will do a 7-kilometer drilling." said.

The Foundation of the Industrial Facility Will Be Laid

Stating that they will lay the foundation of the industrial facility on rare earth elements in 2026, Bayraktar also said that the work on purification of rare earth elements continues.

Production in Akkuyu, Decision Year in Sinop and Thrace

Minister Bayraktar also said that they aim to produce the first electricity at Akkuyu Nuclear Power Plant this year. Bayraktar said, "Our work and negotiations continue for Sinop and Thrace power plants. 2026 may be the year of decision there too, 2026 is a critical year for him. We aim to be the year to name which technology and which country we will walk with here." said.

Best technology, Affordable Price, Locality, Human Resources

Bayraktar said, "Our expectation in nuclear is; one, the best technology is the most affordable price. Two, indigenization. In other words, 50 percent, 55 percent of this reactor will use domestic equipment, domestic industry, domestic construction sector. Three, human resource development. For example, what was in the agreement we had with the Russians; we sent more than 300 students there, they studied there, most of them are currently working in Akkuyu. Turkiye is gaining a very important "know-how", Türkiye is raising a very important human resource. Therefore, the same conditions exist in our negotiations in Sinop and Thrace. We aim to walk with whoever recommends this to us here at the highest level," he said.

Gradual Tariff on Natural Gas

Noting that approximately 650 billion liras of energy support was given to the citizens in 2025, Bayraktar pointed out that this support continues. Regarding the preparation of the 'gradual tariff' in natural gas, Bayraktar said, "We will look at the average city-based consumption. We strive to make the supports correctly and effective. We plan to do the staging in natural gas as well," he said.

Energy Prices

Minister Bayraktar, who also made a statement about whether there will be a change in energy prices, said that they will make an evaluation according to inflation and evaluate the situation within the year. Bayraktar stated that their goal is to make the price regulation once a year in proportion to inflation. Bayraktar said, "We will make a pricing according to the developments in the world by considering inflation."
