Türkiye is Ready to Further Strengthen Cooperation
Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar said, “Every recycled product, every ton of waste prevented and every kilowattwatch saved brings us one step closer to a more sustainable future. Our planet's resources may be limited, but our capacity to innovate, develop cooperation and increase efficiency is unlimited.” Minister Bayraktar stated that Türkiye is ready to further strengthen cooperation with all participating countries and institutions in areas such as policy design, regulatory frameworks, digitalization, measurement and verification systems and sustainable financing models.

Minister Bayraktar attended the High-Level Energy Dialogue Meeting organized within the scope of the Zero Waste Forum and made the opening speech.
Our Responsibility to Future Generations
Pointing out that the world is experiencing the biggest supply shocks in the oil and natural gas markets with the COVID-19 pandemic, supply chain disruptions, trade wars, natural disasters, the war in Ukraine and now the developments in Iran, Minister Bayraktar stated that the concepts of 'Zero Waste' and 'energy efficiency' are more critical than ever under these complex conditions. Minister Bayraktar said, "Both maximize the value. Both protect the environment. Both strengthen our economic resilience. And above all, both reflect our responsibility to future generations.”
The Cleanest Source Energy Efficiency
Emphasizing the importance of energy efficiency, Minister Bayraktar said, "Energy efficiency is the cleanest, fastest and most cost-effective resource we have. Every kilowatt hour saved means energy that we don't have to produce, import or pay for," he said.
Investment Target Of More Than 20 Billion Dollars
Explaining that they implemented Turkey's 2030 Energy Efficiency Strategy and the Second National Energy Efficiency Action Plan in 2024, Minister Bayraktar said, "Within the framework of this comprehensive and ambitious roadmap, we foresee an investment of over 20 billion dollars by 2030 in all sectors from energy production to buildings, from industry to transportation and agriculture. We believe our goals are ambitious but achievable: to achieve a 16 percent reduction in energy consumption, to prevent 100 million tons of emissions as a result, and to achieve significant savings for our economy in the long run. We have mobilized an investment of approximately 7.6 billion dollars in the field of energy efficiency in 2024 and 2025 alone. These investments have already achieved a total of 4.6 million tons of oil equivalent energy savings and 14.3 million tons of carbon emissions reduction. This amount is equivalent to the emission that approximately 30 million trees will absorb during their lives," he shared.
We Are Ready To Strengthen Cooperation
Expressing that they believe that energy efficiency should be in a much more central position in global climate and development debates as we move towards COP31, Minister Bayraktar said, “Because energy efficiency is not only an environmental tool. It is also an energy security tool and is increasingly becoming a means of competitiveness in the rapidly changing global economy. However, no country can fully realize its productivity potential alone. The scale of the transformation requires stronger and more comprehensive international collaboration, deeper knowledge sharing and more innovative financing and technology partnerships. For this reason, Turkey is ready to further strengthen cooperation with all participating countries and institutions in areas such as policy design, regulatory frameworks, digitalization, measurement and verification systems and sustainable financing models.
Sustainable Future
Minister Bayraktar said: “Every recycled product, every ton of waste prevented and every kilowatt hour saved brings us one step closer to a more sustainable future. Our planet's resources may be limited, but our capacity to innovate, develop collaboration, and increase efficiency is limitless. I sincerely believe that today's round table meeting will create a meaningful dialogue environment and pave the way for new partnerships and concrete collaborations. Türkiye is ready to work with all of you.”
