Yıldız who stated that today was a different day for Turkey and the joint membership agreement was signed with CERN today reminded that the membership process would commence after the agreement would be approved by the Grand National Assembly of Turkey. Yıldız continued as follows:

"Now, we are at a detector and at the place where a thousand billion protons collide together with an accelerator. So we are at a point where the engineering is extremely important. We see that the Turkish engineering or any manufacture in Turkey is not available here. This is a negative situation for us. I have to share this with the public. Turkey, being a developing country, should not have an engineering losing power. The developing Turkey should have the engineering which can do business here.”
