Minister Alaboyun met with the United States Deputy Secretary of State

Minister Alaboyun stated the following regarding the meeting; “The issues related to the energy supply security were discussed. Apart from that, the views were exchanged on integration of Iraqi natural gas to the system, on how the recently discovered Eastern Mediterranean reserves would be put to good use, as well as on the natural gas pipelines crossing over the territory of Turkey.”

Minister Alaboyun had a bilateral meeting with the Deputy Secretary Blinken. The meeting arranged due to the request of the American side, took place in Istanbul Tarabya Hotel, closed to the press. During the press conference organized after half an hour meeting, Minister Alaboyun had stated that the issues related to the energy supply security in the region were discussed at the bilateral meeting.
