EPIAS, Energy Stock Exchange Istanbul, launched its spot natural gas trade system on the energy stock exchange on Saturday with the attendance of Fatih Donmez, Turkey's Energy and Natural Resources Minister.

There will be three priorities in energy for the new era, said Fatih Dönmez, the Minister of Energy and Natural Resources.

Turkey’s newly appointed Minister of Energy and Natural Resources takes over his new post from his predecessor Berat Albayrak with a handover ceremony on Tuesday.

Appointed as the Minister of Energy and Natural Resources in the 64th Government, Mr. Berat Albayrak has taken over the post at the Inauguration Ceremony that took place in the Ministry.

Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Ali Rıza Alaboyun took part in the International Energy Agency (IEA) Ministerial meeting.

Underlining the need for energy resources diversification through deployment of renewable and indigenous sources, Minister Alaboyun stated: “We have a very important shortfall and it is nuclear energy. Turkey without nuclear means Turkey with no energy in the future. I assume that one or two reactors in our first nuclear power plant Akkuyu will be taken into operation by 2023.”

“Floating gigantic power plants” manufactured by Karadeniz Holding for Ghana and Indonesia have departed to be delivered to these countries. Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alaboyun stated that Turkey feels proud of the “gigantic floating power plants” manufactured by Karadeniz Holding.

Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Mr. Alaboyun delivered a speech at the “Access to Energy in Sub Saharan Africa” held in Istanbul within the scope of G20.

Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Taner YILDIZ expressed his doubt that Eastern Mediterrenean natural gas will seriously be offered to the world markets through LNG terminals via Egypt.

At the groundbreaking ceremony of Akkuyu Marine Facilities Construction, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Taner YILDIZ stated about the beginning of a new era and that such a concrete and a clear point had never been reached on establishment of a nuclear power plant before.

Regarding the agreements concluded among the Turkish and the Russian Universities in the field of nuclear education and training, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Taner YILDIZ stated that “this framework agreement made both in Russia and among our valuable Universities, will be the most important centre for human resources”.

An agreement covering energy cooperation between Turkey and Georgia was signed by the Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Taner YILDIZ and the Minister of Energy of Georgia - Kakha Kaladze.

During the opening ceremony of the 8-th Internatıonal Solar Energy Energy and Technology Fair held in Istanbul ExpoCentre, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Taner YILDIZ emphasized that a growing Turkey cannot have a shrinking energy sector, while stating that Turkey is going through a certain transformation, progress and development.
